Money Laundering Defined
Basically, money laundering can be defined as concealing the true nature, source and origin of criminally derived funds. In other words, those that earn significant amounts of money from criminal activity must sever the link between the criminal activity and the eventual spending, investing, depositing, etc. of the funds. If not sufficiently laundered, the funds, assets acquired, etc., can be traced back to the criminal activity and are subject to seizure and the perpetrators subject to criminal sanction.
We strive to educate businesses and business owners in the anti-money laundering arena so their businesses do not unwittingly become involved with those who seek to launder illegally derived funds. We also strive to assist those same business and owners to comply with the complex regulations that surround this area.
